am hoping someone is at least viewing it …

Turning 30 is horrid; and since I am depressed abt it, I went shopping…and this is what I got…my new baby!

Thanks! 🙂 I love open shelves – hate struggling with glass, but I must confess that this does require regular dusting!

Horrid? Why on earth :-O ?

But great present for self 🙂

    * tries to think of something horrid about his year *

    • November 10, 2009 at 12:36 pm

You can buy one to celebrate a good year too! 🙂

      • November 10, 2009 at 12:56 pm

        Was just kidding 🙂

The place where I live has no room for new furniture. But I’ll buy something like that one day, for sure.

Awesome! Great gift for self. Don’t worry about the 30 bit, you’ll start loving it.

I’ve been intending to buy a book shelf, but a lot of dust that gathers on bookshelves never gets cleaned so I want one with glass doors. It would be an extra bonus if the horizontal panels are level adjustable 2 or 3 inches.

    • November 10, 2009 at 12:38 pm

Thanks 🙂 I have two shelves with glass doors, but they arent as pretty as this one! but then this one requires frequent dusting. 🙂

      • November 11, 2009 at 1:33 pm

How were the birthday celebrations? 🙂

Where did you buy the shelf from? You are right that most shelves with glass doors aren’t pretty but I won’t lose hope. 🙂

Bday was okay..in Goa…but sighh..not as much fun as before.

Got it from Westside. Have you considered getting one made? I have one made with glass doors -its quite decent, just that the finish is not good as this one.But it does give you a lot of opportunity for design, so try it 🙂

    Megha

Such a robust wood shelf needs hard bound books, just like the top row.

So did this bookshelf cost 30K ;-?

    • November 10, 2009 at 12:40 pm

Why dont you buy me a crate of hard bound books and ship it across? 😉 will rearrange the books!

      • November 10, 2009 at 7:24 pm

        Let me think about it,

In the meanwhile, just give me some favourite authors that you want hard bound ?

    Happy birthday!

30s are the new 20s, they say.

Turning 30 is fun. Turning 31 is when it really sinks in. 😉

    • November 11, 2009 at 12:25 pm

      Thanks! 🙂

Do you mean that you realise its going downhill at 31..or that you have mope around whole of 30, and realise that its fun at 31? 😀

      • November 24, 2009 at 5:25 am

Well… at 31, it sinks in that you’re truly in your 30s, and there’s no going back. You might mope around for the first half of the year, and then in the second half you decide to have fun because it’s a great age to be. 🙂

(I’m turning 34 in a week. Heaven knows how I’ll feel then.)

  9. November 11, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Thanks girl! 🙂 Will get you a tip – you start collecting books now, and when you have loads of them lying around, he will have no choice but to get you one. wicked na?;-)

  11. November 16, 2009 at 5:51 am

The bookshelf looks great!! Love the finish.
And, let’s see – the good thing about being 30 is that you are so much more wiser and well, that saves you a lot of heart and headache 😉

    • November 16, 2009 at 7:17 pm

Thanks S!!! Wiser – really??? 🙂 I will try to hang on to your words of wisdom! 😀
