My first glimpse of Angkor Thom – I then knew this was going to be something special

A wet morning...when we all congregated at Angkor wat to watch the sun rise.

Away from the crowds, we found our own quiet spots...

Naah..this is not a meadow in the english countryside

the drizzle of the morning has faded..the wetness of early dawn is slowing being replaced by a searing heated blue sky....resting at the extremely well-maintained water bodies around Angkor Wat.

The sun is up..i hold on to my water bottle and camera ...and brace for the adventures ahead..

But if you thought Siem Reap was just about temples, and that too, famous touristy ones, then you are mistaken... Away from the crowds, you come across these small ruins in the dense jungle..where time seems to have stopped...

we walked ahead...there were more treasures to be "unearthed"..

we walked among stones and rubble..and looked into windows of the past...

walked on narrow paths, having conversations with tilted walls..

we found a world...that was as forsaken as it it loved today...

where people walked along...along with us...searching for beauty...as much as within them, as what they saw in those walls...
